About Us
Chaneys was established in 1959 by Henry Chaney, as a general surveyors practice in the Reading and Wokingham area. The business, in fact, still manages some of the original properties Henry did.
We are now based in Reading, Berkshire, primarily serving property and asset management Clients in the Thames Valley area.
We work with Management Companies, Resident Associations, Landlords, Tenants and Developers to provide a professional management service with local expertise and values.
We have established a good reputation through our work as residential surveyors and property managers and work hard to keep it.


Block Management
Chaneys is a well established service provider of residential block and leasehold management.
We currently manage over 200 apartment blocks within the greater Thames Valley area.
Providing a good quality of service is our first priority. This objective has been built on the foundation of our professional expertise and values gained from being members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
We work with Management Companies, Residents Associations and Freeholders to ensure their developments are well maintained and efficiently run.

Developer’s Services
We support residential developers by offering to work with them through the design and construction phases of new build apartments and buildings converted to apartments from alternative uses. Our service, for example, provides advice upon how to make sure the design of the build will keep service charge costs down as much as possible. We can also assist in the preparation of drafting the leases, in consideration to its impact on service charges as well as long term maintenance procedures for the premises. Once the development is ready to be advertised to the market, we also support the sales process by dealing with prospective purchaser’s building management enquiries.
